SUMMARY:Monthly Play Reading-Taking Steps
DESCRIPTION:Taking Steps- Alan Ayckbourn \n*Please note the changed date. For this Months playreading only the reading will occur on the 2nd Tuesday of the month rather than the usual 1st Wednesday of the month* \nPlaster is falling down\, loud noises are heard in the empty old 3 storey house; the setting of Alan Ayckbourn’s 1979 play which he describes as his ‘only real classic farce’. We meet Elizabeth\, whom is at a crossroads with her unappreciative\, alcoholic husband Roland\, Elizabeth’s brother\, Mark and his girlfriend Kitty\, Leslie the landlord who is also the dodgy builder and Tristram\, Roland’s poor excuse of a solicitor. As the play unfolds we see that it is not only the house thats collapsing but their relationships are also crumbling away. Their selfish ways results in them getting their ‘just deserts’ some more deserving than the others.

SUMMARY:Monthly Playreading-Boeing Boeing
DESCRIPTION:Boeing Boeing by Marc Camoletti first produced in 1965\nThis hit comedy similar in vein to Shakespeare’s comedies of merry misadventures and mistaken identities\, Boeing Boeing tells the exploits of French bachelor Bernard and his lovely three female flight attendants. They all believe they’re engaged to Bernard! In the past\, he’s been able to juggle these women due to his detailed timetable of his fiancés’ flight schedules. However\, when all of the women end up at his apartment on the same day\, Bernard (with help from his bewildered friend Robert) struggles to keep them from learning the truth. Will the lying lothario be able to keep up this charade\, or will a disaster occur? As they say: all’s well that ends well!
